Megan has seriously made my day-we are going to New York to see Wicked in January! First, going to New York is amazing in itself. I absolutely love it there! Secondly, being able to see Wicked again makes me so happy. I saw Wicked back in December at a time in my life where I was really unsure about who I was and where I was headed. It really changed me-it empowered me and actually gave me chills. Wicked is truly an amazing musical, and if you haven't checked it out, you have no idea what you're missing.

I'm not quite sure what it is, but lately I've been feeling the need to go back to Tulsa for no other reason than just to be there. Actually, I think it's more of the road trip experience with Val and Jessica that I miss. We had so much fun those couple of days, and I would give almost anything to be able to relive that experience again.

Eh, kind of depressing now that I think about it.

Oh yes, and one more thing...no radio station should be allowed to play Christmas music until after Thanksgiving. Please stop rushing the season people!!

Brian's birthday was celebrated on Sunday. Nice chance for the family to get together, share a meal and oh yes, how could I forget...embarrass the living daylights out of me because I was there with Dan.

When I was younger (12/13 maybe) I used to have a club with my cousins. We called ourselves "The Scary Stories Club." Corny, yes, but hey, we had to entertain ourselves somehow. Anyway, during the holidays, we would perform skits, plays, dances, etc. My cousin Brian just happened to have a video of a dance we did for Christmas. And so in the presence of Dan and Andrea (Andrew's girlfriend), my family proceeded to watch the video and have a few laughs at The Scary Stories Club's expense.

Yup...not a family function goes by where I don't get embarrassed.

Hanson's live cd comes out tomorrow. You should check it out! Why, you may ask? Well, because Hanson rocks...and because I said so. hehe

And on top of that, Dan actually wants to go with me. This should be interesting. Darn Fall Ball being on the same day as the show in Atlantic City. I'm guessing it wouldn't look so good if the social coordinator for YASKI didn't show up to the biggest event of the year. *sigh*

On another note, vacation with Dan was out of this world. I really love that guy.

Rockin Rock Lobster

Went down to Rock Lobster in Philly for salsa dancing on Sunday with some people from YASKI. The event itself was pretty cool. The scenery couldn't have been more perfect or romantic. We pier we were on overlooked the water and the Ben Franklin Bridge. It was absolutely beautiful. From 8-9:00, we were taught how to salsa dance. Learning how to dance wasn't nearly as bad as I thought. The girls all rotated to different guys, which made it really cool. That way both guys and girls could dance with people of other skill levels. Watching Dan try and salsa was hysterical. He was such a sport about it. Sorry for the lack of updates, folks. I guess I just don't have too much to say. Life is normal, I suppose, except for when there's a YASKI event to be involved in.

Eric moved out a few weeks ago. He and Jacqui are now in their own house, and I must admit that it is weird not having him at home. Sometimes I get freaked out because I know in all actuality, I'll be the next one to move out. Am I ready for that though? I see other people moving on with their lives and yet I feel like I am still stuck in the same place. I am comfortable at home, comfortable with my job and my friends. Maybe, just maybe, it's time to break out of that comfortable mode. Just a thought.

RIP Mrs. Wheeler. Thank you for all you taught me throughout your short life. Your cheery attitude and warm smile will forever hold a place in my heart.

Undone Retreat

I really forgot how much I enjoy going on retreats. I had such a great time on the Undone Retreat this past weekend. Somehow, I was able to make my talk last for 45 minutes, and I was so excited about that. There are so many things that happened this weekend that were amazing. I can't believe how much I miss everyone already. I woke up this morning feeling so incomplete-just knowing that I wouldn't see Michele or Dan, Molly Manners, Maria-it was so sad. I only got 6 hours of sleep, but somehow I'm still functioning.

I learned that Michele is such an incredible friend, and I didn't think I could get any closer to her. We really bonded this weekend, and she was there for me in ways I never thought possible. I just love her so much!

How incredible it was to be able to see Dan for three days in a row from morning to night. The bonding experience we shared this weekend compares to no other. Our relationship is stronger than ever before. I have so much love in my heart for him. He is such a gift from God.

Some memories from the retreat:

omg. What a great show. I swear, with each show that I go to, Hanson does the impossible and performs better than they did the last time I saw them. How do they do it? a;jdk;jd.

If Hanson keeps raising the bar like this, at a future show I am going to reach such a euphoric state that I'm going to die, literally, of happiness. :sighs: They just go above and beyond my expectations of what they can do, and my expecations are *already* high...and they constantly surpass them with each note coming from their *mouths*. They were so on the ball tonight; I can't even put it into words how amazing the show was. I just can't.

After traveling to Tulsa to see Mayfest, and then coming to this show...Hanson concerts take on an entirely new meaning now. Realizing fully all that's happened within the past five years ... all the passion and energy that Hanson has for their music means so much more than it ever has before.

This show was the first show where Zac actually told us to sing Broken Angel along *with* him ... He looked so happy, he knew that we knew the words, and he encouraged us to really sing out, and he didn't even finish the last line of the song, he held his hand out and let us finish it for him.

There are so many great moments...Isaac rocking out so hard to Hand in Hand that he is literally on the ground, out of SIGHT, still playing. We were all dying, we were like, "You GO Isaac!!!" ... The guitar riff in Underneath that I *love* so much ... In A Little While by U2 ... the energy of MMMBop and Where's The Love ... and Lost Without Each Other ... Ike and Tay's 'dance' during Gimme Some Lovin' ... I say 'Han,' you say 'son'! HAN! SON! HAN! SON! ... "I need to hear those 'snaps' - snap snap snap snap ... now clap...a little bit louder now...a little bit louder now...a little bit LOUDER now!!! Oh yeah!!!" ... Taylor climbing on top of the piano (!!) ... Zac climbing on top of the drums (!!!) ... "Just you guys, sing!" ... "One more time! And I said... HEY!" ...

There's nothing better than being in a room full of Hanson fans singing Hanson's songs back to them for two hours straight, and seeing Hanson loving every second of our enthusiasm for their music. Not only that, but knowing that they truly care not only about their music, but us as fans - it's just indescribable.

It's gotten to the point where words are woefully inadequate when describing a Hanson show. I can't put it into words - it's something that you need to experience to understand. It's the same thing with being a fan...people don't understand how I can devote all this time and energy into a 'band', and I'm tired of trying to find words to describe why I do this, because words can't describe it.

After devoting 8 years to this band, I know for a fact that Hanson will succeed in the long run and become the music legends that they have the poetential to be. If Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys, Ringo Starr of The Beatles, Bono of U2, John Popper of Blues Travellor, AND Elton John can frickin' recognize and praise Hanson's talent, I don't see why the hell the rest of the world can't.

On another note, the retreat is in two weeks, and I really have to time myself for my talk. It's supposed to be 45 minutes long, and as of now, it's only a half hour. Must.find.things.to.talk.about. Haha

This past weekend was amazing. On Saturday, I went to Dan's cousin, Allison's, wedding. It was so beautiful! I've never been to a wedding before, and I wasn't expecting the feelings I had after everything was said and done. I can't explain it, but I just felt so much more in love with Dan than ever before. The whole atmosphere of the wedding, the chance to dance together...everything was so perfect. I am so lucky to have him. He is really the best thing that has happened to me in a long time. I feel bad for everyone around me because all I do is talk about him constantly. I can't remember ever feeling this way about anyone else, and that is the best feeling in the world. He's just wow.

Anywho, I'm seeing Hanson in two days. It hasn't even sunk in yet. I can't believe it's only been a little over two weeks since I saw them in Tulsa. All I have to say is that the Exotic Fishermen are making their second debut together. lol
